We expect a repeat of last year’s highly successful, thought-provoking event attended by over 350 people. This year's event will showcase and recognize research, development and commercialization accomplishments in the Research Corridor and highlight exciting scientific and technological advances by universities and businesses here in the region. The summit will also feature high profile, globally recognized thought leaders and innovators who will share their views of the future and important insights into next generation innovations. Confirmed speakers include: David Cote - Chairman and CEO of Honeywell International, a diversified technology and manufacturing leader, serving customers worldwide with aerospace products and services; control technologies for buildings, homes, and industry; turbochargers; and specialty materials. Dr. Jill Tarter - an American astronomer and the current director of the Center for SETI Research, which is looking for evidence of life beyond Earth. Tarter's work was popularized in Carl Sagan's novel Contact. In the film version of Contact, the main character Ellie Arroway, played by Jodie Foster, is "largely based" on Tarter's work.
